BOAT TOURS

Our boat the "Southern Queen" carries up to 70 passengers with sailings throughout the day.    

Throughout the summer months there are three sailings a day, seven days a week. (weather permitting)

You will see all the historical sites there are to see within the bay of Dover, including:

• The Western Heights -  St Martin's Gun Batteries that protected Dover in the 2nd World War
• The iconic White Cliffs of Dover and 
• The entrance to the War Time Tunnels where Churchill stayed and looked over the Channel many times during the 2nd World War
• The famous Dover Castle which looks over the town and the English Channel .  
• Look across the Channel and see France on a clear day. 

After the boat tour why not take a trip on the Dover Rover Bus & see historic Dover from the top of the cliffs?

This tour enhances the sights that you have just seen by sea.

THE DOVER ROVER BUS TOUR

You will see some of Dover's best attractions and historical sites including: 

• The 2nd World War Gun Emplacements with a view across the marina & piers. 
• The town and its history
• The Roman Painted House which formed part of a large official hotel built during the Roman era.
• Dover Museum that holds Bronze age boat, the oldest sea going vessel in Europe if not the world.
• Dover Castle. The bus drops passengers off at Dover Castle if they wish, or in Dover Town Centre, before going back to Dover Marina.
• Enjoy the British countryside for a moment whilst heading for those famous White Cliffs.  
• Look across the Channel and see France on a clear day.

After the Dover Rover why not take the boat round the Bay. It brings together the history of the area you have just seen by land.

Other day tours are available. Our most popular day tour is for people who are in the area for only one day and wish to see as much of Kent as possible. Tours 1 & 2 can be combined to see; Deal, Sandwich, Canterbury, Leeds Castle, Channel Tunnel viewpoint, the RAF war memorial at Capel and Dover White Cliffs with a boat tour on the "Southern Queen" and costs £85 per person. All entry tickets, bus pick-ups and drop-offs are included.

Tour 1                                                          

To the Magnificent Leeds Castle & Grounds via the Ancient City of Canterbury

Pickup from Dover Cruise Terminal, your Hotel, or B/B (times to be arranged)

(All tours start from our Marina Ticket Office unless booked from another pick-up point)

Price includes entry ticket to Leeds Castle, "Southern Queen" boat tour and Dover Rover bus tour.

Leaving Dover via Canterbury with time to look around the city centre and shops.

On to Leeds Castle with plenty of time to look around the castle and it's 500 acre grounds.

Return via the Channel Tunnel viewpoint, above the Saxon Shore Way, and the Battle of Britain Memorial with Spitfire and Hurricane aircraft on display.

Ending with Boat Tour on board the "Southern Queen" to see the historic sights of Dover by sea followed by the Dover Rover Bus Tour.

Fare is £60 per person, covering all pickups and drop offs, including entry ticket to Leeds Castle and the combined boat & bus tour of Dover.

Tours 1 & 2 can now be combined for a full day tour for just £85 per person (includes all tickets to Leeds Castle, Dover cliffs & "Southern Queen" boat tours) We have arranged this tour for visitors to the area with limited time available.

Tour 2                                                     

Visit the Cinque port towns of Dover, Deal, and Sandwich. 

Roam through the English Countryside & visit the  Ancient City of Canterbury

Pick-up from Dover Cruise Terminal, your Hotel, or B/B (times to be arranged)

See the historical sites of Dover, including the Western Heights, Dover Town and the famous Dover Castle standing overlooking the town & Channel.  Then up to the beautiful White Cliffs of Dover where you can take a short walk along the top of the White Cliffs. 

Leaving Dover and travelling to Sandwich via Deal passing what was the Royal School of Music for the Royal Marines bands, Deal Castle designed by Henry VIII, The Timeball Museum and Deal pier.

On arrival at the medievial town of Sandwich there will be time to look around this Cinque Port town.

On to Canterbury with plenty of time to look around the city centre and shops.

Enjoy the wonderful view as we make our way through the English countryside.
